A classic reborn in a full-on industrial abstract simplicity. Fyr Kerosene Lamp has done away with flimsy decoration in a new interpretation by Johan Larsvall. A sensuous light source to cherish all the year around. ’I wanted to create a modern take on the classic kerosene lamp which hasn’t evolved for more than a century.’ says Johan Larsvall. ’I have reduced it to its basic forms: the cylinder attached to a slender waist that expands to grip the conical base.’

Fyr Kerosene Lamp will give a gentle yet forceful light indoors. It will also work fine to bring outdoor if standing in a not to windy environment. The 16-centimeter-wide conical fount will stay firm on any surface, and the lamp has an impressive height of more than 30 centimeters. Im raised with kerosene lamps in the countryside, they have a soul of their own with a friendly glow adds Johan Larsvall. This was a dream to draw using basic geometrical form elements. Johan Larsvall reduces the classic kerosene lamp to its essentials and keeps it as a testimony to by-gone eras and memories of dancing flames in the evening light.

Fyr Kerosene Lamp sports a sizeable cone as a base, a sturdy waist for the tubular wick, and a cylindrical glass chimney for the burning flame. Use the stout yet slender knob to adjust the flame and to tilt the lamp up for a grip when moving it around. The glass fully transparent base shows the amount of remaining lamp oil and lets you control the travel of the wick when turning the knob.
